RMHC Malaysia and McDonald’s Malaysia Host Movie Day Out Featuring A Minecraft Movie for Underprivileged Children
PETALING JAYA, 6 MAY 2025 – Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia (RMHC Malaysia), in collaboration with McDonald's Malaysia, brought joy to children and caretakers from selected orphanages through a special screening of A Minecraft Movie on 3 May 2025.
Held at TGV Cinemas, Jaya Shopping Centre, over 160 children from Padmasambhava Children Loving Association Klang Selangor, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary K.L, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ehsan Ash-Shakur, and Pertubuhan Pendidikan Anak-Anak Yatim Selangor were treated with an unforgettable experience filled with joy and excitement.
As part of the initiative, RMHC Malaysia also donated a total of RM10,000 to the participating orphanages, further reinforcing its long-standing commitment to improving the lives of underprivileged children across Malaysia. McDonald’s Malaysia complemented the experience by serving delicious meals after the movie screening and celebrated the birthdays of children born in the months of April and May.
This initiative is one of the many activities under McDonald’s ongoing global collaboration with Warner Bros. Entertainment, featuring A Minecraft Movie as this year’s highlight. RMHC Malaysia and McDonald’s Malaysia have a long-standing tradition of organising movie screenings together with TGV Cinemas for underprivileged children, with previous outings including Minions: The Rise of Gru in 2022 and Despicable Me 4 in 2024. Through this partnership, more than 360 children have enjoyed memorable movie day experiences filled with joy, excitement, and meaningful moments.
“Moments like these remind us of the importance of creating meaningful experiences for children, especially those who may not often have access to them,” said Dato’ Haji Azmir Jaafar, President of RMHC Malaysia. “We are committed to supporting the well-being of underprivileged children in Malaysia, not just through our core programs, but also through special initiatives like this that bring smiles and joy.”
This movie day out is one of the many initiatives under RMHC Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to improve the health and well-being of underprivileged children across the country. In addition to special activities like this, RMHC Malaysia also runs four core programs – the Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Sensory Room, Gift of Smile Program, and Back-to-School Program – all aimed at providing long-term support and care for children in need.
