What we expect of our employees

We serve 47 million customers daily around the world. And we give nothing but the best to our customers. To do so, we expect our employees to deliver and practise all that we've outlined below.

1. Total customer satisfaction
We've got to "wow" our customers. We've got to delight them - right from the minute they approach our counter or drive-thru window until they leave the restaurant.

This means our staff must treat each customer like a valued guest. Some examples would be:
Greet customers courteously and in a timely manner.
Think like a customer.
Make small talk whenever possible.
Present orders as quickly as possible.
Make sure every customer is taken care of before moving to the next one.
Do whatever it takes to satisfy the customer.
Talk to kids. Make them feel important too for they are the stars!
Open doors for customers.

2. Teamwork
McDonald's founder, Ray Kroc once said that "None of us is as good as all of us." At McDonald's, we make it a point to get everyone working closely with one another. We learn to:
Form long-term relationships with fellow team members.
Treat people the same way we're trained to treat customers.
Support and encourage team efforts.
Fill in whenever someone can't make it.
Help new hires to learn work procedures.
Share work knowledge and information with fellow team members.
Accept directions and constructive feedback from managers.

3. Work Standards
We're high achievers and we set high goals and standards of performance for ourselves. Here's what we do:
Make sure that all orders are correct the first time.
Monitor food quality and stock levels.
Follow standard operational procedures so that customers always get the best quality and service.
Serve only high-quality food within the prescribed holding times.
Report to work on time and in full uniform.

4. Cleanliness
McDonald's is a food business. So we - the restaurants and our crew - have to be clean, always. There's no question about it. We go all-out to:
Maintain clean, tidy customer areas, including dining rooms, lobbies and playgrounds.
Consistently follow proper sanitation and food safety procedures.
Ensure our crew is well-groomed in neat, clean, professional and wrinkle-free uniforms.

5. Job Fit
If you adapt well to new responsibilities and have no qualms about taking on more challenges, you'll fit in easily at McDonald's. Here, we're supposed to:
Work comfortably with people from varied ethnic and social backgrounds.
Able to multi-task.
Stay productive while maintaining a high energy level.
Willing to work with all kinds of equipment.
Committed to completing transactions within specific time guidelines.
